SayleGroup has started a Safety Culture movement in Nova Scotia, which is expanding country-wide. Through our extensive experience in various industries, we have identified a need to improve how new and young workers are trained for safety. Unfortunately, many new workers are left to learn what to do and not to do through trial and error. In too many cases, these inexperienced workers end up severely injuring themselves or worse. It is our belief that this Safety Culture movement must be a grassroots movement. Shahin was a perfect early candidate for our Safety Culture 100 series course for employees.

This online course teaches what Safety Culture is, Rights and Responsibilities under Health & Safety Laws, and how to properly identify and address hazards. By Shahin successfully completing this course, he is aware that he has a responsibility to protect his own health and safety, and that of others. He has been equipped with the belief that everyone should be able to go to work, do their job well, and get home safe. And, he is familiar with and understands his Basic Safety Rights under the law.

Falck is providing Shahin with his Basic Survival Training (BST) that is required by all personnel who intend to conduct work offshore and/or onshore in the oil & gas specific industry. By successfully completing this 5-day training process, Shahin will have specific knowledge of the hazards you may encounter while executing work in this industry, offshore emergency response procedures, and the various pieces of equipment workers employ to successfully and safely do their job.

By applying the positive methodology of SayleGroup’s Safety Culture 100 course in unison with the practical information acquired from Falck’s BST course, Shahin will be well-prepared to enter the Nova Scotia workforce and will be a great contributor to safe work in whatever industry he applies his skills in.
