- The Government of Canada, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador, together with the offshore regulators (Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board and Canada-Newfoundland & Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board), embarked on an initiative to develop new regulations to support marine and vessel OHS.
- SayleGroup provided its technical knowledge and expertise on international and other domestic regulatory frameworks governing operational and occupational safety in the marine industry, as well as advice / recommendations on how to potentially address any identified overlap or gaps in regulatory intent. The outcome of this work was to help identify where exceptions or alterate requirements were needed.
- SayleGroup reviewed the draft Occupational Health and Safety policy intent and identified in a comparative document, what (if any), requirements posed potential difficulty for marine vessel compliance and identified what domestic or international requirements existed that partially or wholly addressed the hazards for each policy intent item.
