Interesting developments as cannabis will be officially legalized in 8-12 weeks.
With Bill C-45 passing, Canadian organizations will need to take the right steps in transitioning their workforce – to protect their health and safety. Organizations across Canada now have a definitive timeline to work with in terms of preparing their workforce for this major shift.
Employers are legally required to protect their workforce from potential and actual hazards in the workplace. Employers will be held accountable in the event of an incident resulting from cannabis use if they cannot prove they took every reasonable precaution to educate their workforce on this new and unique workplace hazard. Employees: Are you aware of your "Right to Know" about hazards and how cannabis can potentially affect the safety of you and your co-workers?
