Wins 2017 ACADA Industry Excellence Recognition Award: Most Promising Start-up or Business Diversification

Below is the acceptance speech given by SayleSafety CEO, Stephen Sayle, during the Atlantic Canada Aerospace & Defence Association (ACADA) Reception and Dinner:

Good evening and thank you so much, we are absolutely thrilled to win this award!

I started my career as a light commercial diver, then spent 20 years across Canada and Overseas working with high risk safety management systems – but being an entrepreneur is the hardest job I’ve ever had.

There is a demographic challenge happening in many industries as seasoned veterans are retiring out of the workforce while young tech-savvy millennials are coming in. Like an hour-glass, we are taking safety subject matter expertise and putting it into digital formats for the next generation.

Our belief and vision is simple: “everyone wants to go to work, do their job well and get home safe”.

Our mission is to help organizations enhance and refresh their Safety Culture and Mental Health so they can:

• Improve workforce readiness;
• Win more contracts in this vibrant supply chain;
• Increase productivity, morale & profits; and most importantly,
• Eliminate workplace incidents and injuries.

I mentioned that being an Entrepreneur is the toughest job I've ever had, and that is true. However, the support for our Safety Culture “movement” has been amazing from the business community, and our team would like to give a special thanks to ACADA, COVE, NSBI, ACOA, NS-LAE, Halifax Partnership, Halifax Chamber of Commerce, CIBC and our First Nations business partner – Virtual Nation.

All these organizations, and our clients, are propelling our Safety Culture movement.
