Education on Cannabis & Workplace Safety is Key
There wasn’t a lack of questions during the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s A Cannabis Conversation event. And while many of the questions cannot yet be definitively answered, the call to action was clear – education and awareness for the entire workforce is an absolute must to comply with legal OHS responsibilities and prevent workplace incidents.
Along with the revision or implementation of a clear and concise policy on the subject, and consultation with legal, HR and specialist consultants – an educational resource is required to support all of the governance, to prevent its undoing.
Furthermore, the educational resource should be well-vetted from reputable sources and written and delivered in a manner that allows for easy and streamlined dissemination to the entire workforce.
